Melania Trump has addressed criticism over the festive "blood trees" she installed in the White House.
One insider previously shared that Melania loves the winter holidays and that she had been planning this year's decorations and theme ever since August.

The first lady said she's talked with Barron about the dangers of opioids and other drugs.
Melania Trump has now defended her choice of Christmas trees during a panel discussion at Liberty University, saying: "We are in 21st century and everybody has a different taste".
A release from Liberty University shares that Trump will be attending the town hall as part of Liberty's Convocation, which will also be attended by members of President Donald Trumps administration. "He is very aware, and I hope he follows what I teach him", Trump said. There's also a White House gingerbread house baked with 300 pounds of dough and festooned with tiny Christmas wreaths in every window.
She added: "I will always tell him that drugs - they could be very unsafe and they could mess up your mind and body, and to love yourself more than you love drugs".
The decorations included more than 40 topiary trees - many of which were dyed bright red - 72 handmade paper ornaments and the official White House Christmas tree, an 18-foot fir wrapped in 500 feet of blue velvet ribbon.
Responding to another student's, Alex, question about showing more compassion toward those fighting addictions, Trump said: "We need to support people who are addicted and to get rid of [the] stigma that comes with opioid addiction". I think they look fantastic.

Addressing the opioid epidemic is a pillar of the first lady's Be Best youth initiative.
