  • The 194cm Holstein Friesian has been saved

Mr Pearson said that due to his size, Knickers is too big for the abattoir.

He was first bought as a "coach" - a steer that leads other cattle - at the age of about 12 months.

That's right, he's not even a man but a steer-a castrated male cow-and he's been making global headlines this week for being too big to become beef.

The black-and-white Holstein Friesian won social media fame and many proclamations of "Holy Cow!" after photos surfaced of the 194-centimetre (6-foot-4-inch) steer standing head and shoulders above a herd of brown wagyu cattle in Western Australia state. He is actually too big to be slaughtered.

He's now set to enjoy a long and happy life at the Lake Preston feedlot in Myalup, 136km (85 miles) south of Perth.

But despite the bovine's brawn, he doesn't bully the other cows or get his knickers in a twist, in fact, he is more of a gentle leader of the herd.

"He was still a standout so we thought let's leave him there, he's not hurting anyone", Pearson said, according to BBC. Bellino, a Chianina ox from Italy, still owns the world record for tallest living steer at a whopping six-foot-seven-inches tall, according to the Guinness Book of World Records. If he wants to go for a walk, they follow, if he wants to sit down, they wait around for him to get up.

Mr Pearson - who owns about 20,000 cattle - reckons Knickers has a few years left.

"We all know when Knickers is on the move".
