It is the latest suspicious package, which has been nicknamed "MAGA bombs" by some, in the U.S. sent to a high-profile liberal target.

The official said another package addressed to Biden was also found Thursday morning, that one at a postal center in New Castle, Delaware. O'Neill said in an appearance on CNN that he was "pretty sure those images will be caught on video, and we'll be able to find out where that person came from before they entered the building and where they went to after".

The devices appeared to be pipe bombs, said Bryan Paamann, FBI special agent in charge of the counterterrorism division in NY.

"This is the world we live in".

The suspicious parcels were intercepted before reaching any intended recipients.

None of the suspect devices have gone off and the FBI are investigating who sent them.

NY police have responded to a reported suspicious package at the restaurant owned by actor Robert de Niro in NY. He called the bomb squad.

Footage has emerged of a bomb disposal robot sent in to probe a package supposedly sent to the former US Vice President, Joe Biden, at a post office in Delaware.

Biden once said he would have fought Trump if they were in high school, while De Niro received a loud ovation when he hurled an obscenity at Trump at the Tony Awards in June.

Trump shot back two days later on Twitter.

The spree of bomb alerts was kicked off Monday with a device found at the NY home of billionaire liberal donor George Soros.

Soros' Open Society Foundations has been a financial supporter of NPR. Debbie Wasserman Schultz. She is the former chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee who was accused by Clinton rivals of secretly helping the party's eventual presidential nominee.

Wasserman Schultz's office was evacuated when the envelope arrived on Wednesday. She said that it was disturbing that someone like this was carried out in her name and refused to comment further on the issue.

Several politicians, including U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, described it as an act of terrorism.

"Let's see if she gets away with it", he said in August. "There's no reason to be afraid". CNN reported that the package was meant for former US Attorney General Eric Holder.

The New York Police Department (NYPD) said on the package was removed, but a heavy police presence was still expected in the area.

The package was sent to the Tribeca Grill restaurant. Officials say investigators are analyzing the materials from that device to try to help in understanding it. The devices all appeared to be crude pipe bombs.

An initial examination shows they are rudimentary but functional, and have similar construction. That isn't enough, he explained.

Much was still unanswered about the devices and authorities have said nothing about suspects. About it reports NBC, citing sources.

During a speech to police officials in July 2017, Trump appeared to encourage law enforcers to be more violent in handling potential offenders.

Trump has been briefed about the investigation. He said the inquiry into the packages will have whatever resources are needed, and FBI Director Christopher Wray has pledged that the bureau will not rest until the culprits are caught.

The US president said that "acts or threats of political violence have no place in the United States", adding that a "major federal investigation" is under way.

The flurry of mail bomb activity has sparked the creation of a federal task force to hunt for the source of the packages.
