Red Dead Redemption 2 official companion app announced

  • Red Dead Redemption 2 app hits iOS and Android this week

Rockstar has announced the official Red Dead Redemption 2 companion app for Android devices, iPhone, and iPad. Red Dead Redemption 2 is an enormous game, and is more richly detailed than any game I can remember ever seeing.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the most anticipated games of the year, but if you don't own a PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, you won't be able to play it (sorry, PC gamers). Of course, this means you will be able to use the app as an interactive map (which leaked recently) without opening up the menu. Because the information would be on a different screen, you can play the game without a HUD for improved immersion.

Even better, if you happen to be buying from the Soho, London branch of GAME on Wardour Street, the food delivery company will be bringing free KFC your way.

As a nice bonus, you can also look through Arthur's in-game journal, which will automatically update with new entries and illustrations as you make your way through the game.

And for those who enjoy a bit of light reading, it homes the full digital game manual and an optional digital version of the Red Dead Redemption 2 Complete Official Guide.

It feels like we've been waiting a long, long time, but Red Dead Redemption 2 is finally here and the entire gaming world is waiting on tenterhooks to see just how good Rockstar's epic really is.
