That's because one single winning ticket for the record $1.6 billion Mega Millions jackpot was purchased somewhere in the Palmetto State, beating the seemingly insurmountable 1-in-302.5 million odds.

It looks like the record-setting Mega Millions drawing didn't produce any billionaires in Florida, but it did make four ticket-holders millionaires, according to the Florida Lottery.

The numbers were just drawn for the largest jackpot in lottery history, worth $1.6 billion.

The jackpot had been rolling since July 24, when a California office pool of 11 co-workers shared a $543 million prize.

It was unclear early on Wednesday whether other winning tickets were sold elsewhere.

The record jackpot had set off a lottery frenzy across America, with people lining up at convenience stores, supermarkets and liquor stores to buy a $2 ticket that gave them a roughly one in 300 million chance of winning.

You need all six numbers to win the $1.6 billion prize.

As of 3 a.m. Wednesday, the newspaper reported, the Mega Millions website had not confirmed that there was a victor, but it did not dispute the S.C. Lottery's claim. Virginia Lottery officials said as many as 12,700 tickets were being sold per minute at the sales peak in that state.

Then, it could be subject to further taxation such as state taxes, so much that your final cash prize could be anywhere between $489.8 million and $569.6 million, according to CNBC.

Mega Millions is played in 44 states as well as Washington and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

For matching four white balls plus the Mega Ball, 419 tickets won the game's $10,000 third prize Tuesday night.

While most attention has been on the Mega Millions game, Powerball also has been soaring.

"I didn't win the lottery, but I'm still planning on dying alone", TV host and comedian Conan O'Brien said.

"The payments increase in value by 5 percent each year, but they will average out at around $50 million per year over the course of the annuity", says Lottery.net.

Powerball has climbed since there was a victor in NY on August 11.

The nation's largest lottery jackpots have rolled for a few months.
