  • Breast cancer: Why you should focus on prevention

The Peer Health Owls, a student group that focuses on improving the well-being of KSU students through peer health education, taught students how to prevent breast cancer risks at an information table on the first floor of the Carmichael Student Center on the Kennesaw campus. Less than one percent of all breast cancer cases develop in men, and only one in a thousand men will ever be diagnosed with breast cancer.

An event called the Breast Awareness Reconstruction Event, or BARE, will be held on Wednesday from 6 p.m.to 9 p.m. inside the Fred and Pamela Buffett Cancer Center. The report comes three years after the government promised access to dedicated specialist nurses to all patients.

Boswell and Son helped raise money for Breast Awareness, by selling raffle tickets for a draw and name the teddy for a week now. Now, he's sharing his story with others, knowing that there are plenty of men out there who also incorrectly assume they can never get breast cancer due to their gender. The study authors did note, however, that the absolute risk of these women getting breast cancer was still low: Just 5 of every 1,000 women with non-dense breasts got cancer, and 13 of every 1,000 women with dense breasts got cancer. "Thank you to everyone who has a Breast Cancer plate on your vehicle", said Strang Burgess.

Breast Cancer Aotearoa Coalition (BCAC) chair Libby Burgess says people should not have to go to politicians begging for their lives. "So today's failings must not be swept under the carpet". The youngest member of the Pink Dragons is 40, and the oldest is 79. Some patients think that by getting double mastectomies, they will not have to worry about developing breast cancer in the future.

The medicines are said to extend lives by years. "New Zealand has fallen way behind our counterparts in providing life extending drugs for the metastatic breast cancer community", Sue Wall-Cade, fellow petition organiser said.

"It can be hard to rule out suspicious swollenness because when a woman is ovulating or in their periods their hormones rise and if you do the test in this period it can be hard to know whether the changes in the breasts are due to menses or not".

What is Breast Cancer? "So early detection is one of the things that will help us treat somebody and cure somebody if they have breast cancer".

Those are the only people who get it, she said.

It's all about the size and placement of the tumour, says Patt, which can be responsible for a change in the size or shape of your breast, or cause of painful swelling.

"I did it for myself", said the elementary school teacher from Palm City, near Stuart.

Women like Amal are a shining example of humanity, who not only overcame this hard disease by showing utmost resolve but continue their fight against cancer by motivating others with their touching journeys.

"I knew it would not be an easy journey, hence I tried to make it better by having fun!"
