  • Donald Trump Told a Female Reporter, 'You're Not Thinking, You Never Do'

After opening the presser up to questions, Trump called on Cecilia Vega of ABC News, who he made a decision to insult before she even got her question out.

What I can say is that this president and his team haven't earned the benefit of the doubt - because this wasn't the first instance of the Trump White House making convenient edits to official transcripts. "Like in a state of shock", he said.

According to the Daily Beast, the recorded moment where he says: "I know you're not thinking".

The transcript issued hours later omitted Vega's word "thinking" and showed Trump saying, 'I know you're not thanking'.

Of the many - many - journalists Trump has berated, before and, during his presidency, so far, women reporters have been a prime target. It no longer had a reference to "thanking", and instead affirmed that Trump said the reporter was "never thinking".

He later returned to the question she had asked him about Kavanaugh in which he defended his nominee to the Supreme Court again. However, the new deal was overshadowed by Trump's comment aimed toward a female reporter after opening the floor to questions.

Others said they were going to make an apology in the absence of one from the President.

Later, Collins attempted to change the subject to ask two questions about the Kavanaugh investigation, and Trump wasn't having it.

And when CNN's Kaitlan Collins kept pressing Trump as he dodged a question on whether he would consider it disqualifying for Kavanaugh if he lied to Congress while under oath, Trump cut her off: "You know what. Do you have a question on trade?"

"A news conference means you get to ask whatever question you want to ask", she tweeted. "I'm not", Vega said.
