Some ‘care more than others’ about Man Utd crisis - Mourinho

The Chile global has failed to find the net in the opening six fixtures of the current campaign to prompt criticism of the 29-year-old, who did not make the bench for Manchester United's 3-1 loss to West Ham on Saturday.

Luke Shaw didn't share Pogba's trepidation despite being a past target of Mourinho's scorn. "They are bouncing all over the place with no plan!"

"It doesn't matter how they set up, our game was to try to win, we have to do our job and we did it excellently, and that is why we deserved to win", he said.

Nemanja Matic insists the players have not deserted Jose Mourinho as the Manchester United manager battles to save his job.

Mourinho's public spat with star midfielder Paul Pogba has been another sideshow to a stuttering season.

Saturday's 3-1 defeat to West Ham United further compounded matters for the under pressure Portuguese manager.

The France global has had the vice-captaincy taken off him and many observers are claiming Mourinho may be suffering from the "third-season syndrome" that has dogged his career.

Pogba, who appears determined to leave United as soon as possible, was poor against West Ham and was deservedly substituted after 70 minutes.

United's haul of 10 points from seven games matches their return at this stage of the season under David Moyes in 2013-14 but their inferior goal difference means this is their worst top-flight start since they picked up seven points in 1989-90.

"Until somebody that was a big professional player says "I was a dishonest player", I will always believe the players are honest players and want to give their best". "You see some people on the outside look like they haven't lost a game, but in training they are working hard".

On United's plight this season, Mourinho added: "I think that some [players] care more than others. It was not good enough from a Man Utd team with all the talent we have". "After the result on Tuesday (defeat to Derby in the League Cup) the team obviously needs positive things, positive feelings and to start losing after five minutes is not that positive start that you need".

That the Chilean was deemed not good enough to make Jose Mourinho's 18-man squad for such a shambolic display at the London Stadium speaks volumes for Sanchez's slide since joining United in January.
