Jose Mourinho Odds On To Leave Manchester United Before Paul Pogba

  • Revealed: What caused training ground bust-up between Mourinho and Pogba

Jose Mourinho isn't exactly a stranger to player bust-ups but this time he wants the backing of the Manchester United board in his feud with Paul Pogba.

Current United boss Jose Mourinho stripped Pogba, 25, of the vice-captaincy this week and video footage showed a tense exchange at training on Wednesday.

Laurent Blanc's name has come up in conversation every time the managerial vacancy has opened up at Old Trafford, and it is really beginning to feel like a matter of when, and not if when it comes to the former French global joining the club.

The manner in which Jose has treated Pogba and some of the other players has baffled the squad, and a part of it has been left questioning the gaffer's man-management skills.

It's become abundantly clear that the pair's relationship is broken beyond fix and Jamie Carragher thinks it's Pogba who needs to head for the exit door.

Mourinho eventually realised that Pogba had not meant to post it during the match, and instructed United press officer John Allen - who he had earlier called over - to apologise on his behalf.

It followed comments made by Pogba after last weekend's disappointing home draw against Wolves where he moaned about his side's defensive tactics.

While footballers playing loud music is nothing new, those who have grown exhausted of Pogba thought it showed a lack of focus and was symptomatic of his brash, over-the-top behaviour that has become part of daily life around the club.

The Portuguese manager is expecting the Old Trafford hierarchy to back him the way they used to stand with Sir Alex Ferguson in his battles with player power back in the day, according to The Sun. "They saved it for behind closed doors, like it should be".

Senior squad members like Ashley Young and Nemanja Matic have distanced themselves from Pogba and so too, surprisingly, has Romelu Lukaku.

Barcelona have shown interest but Juve are also bidding for him. "We've see what Pogba is as a player". The other players who have been caught in the middle of Mourinho's rift with Pogba are growing exhausted of the behaviour of both men and the toxic atmosphere it has created.
