Cohn did not detail his complaints with the book, telling Axios: "I am proud of my service in the Trump Administration, and I continue to support the President and his economic agenda".

Priebus wouldn't have any of it and said there will be a dinner in the White House.

Kelly is quoted calling Trump "an idiot" while Mattis is quoted saying Trump has the understanding of "a fifth- or sixth-grader".

Cohn and Porter. "Their statement was excellent", he said. "CNN will definitely have you on there because they love to trash the president", Eric Trump said.

Rob Porter, the former White House staff secretary who is featured heavily in the book, in a statement Tuesday said he was "struck by the selective and often misleading portrait" the book offers of the president and the administration.

But, the president is no stranger to women accusing him of misdeeds. At least 19 women have publicly accused Trump of kissing them, touching them inappropriately or having an affair with him while he was married.

Woodward's book is based on "deep background" interviews, which he defines in his book as interviews where "all the information could be used but I would not say who provided it".

President Trump has dismissed the book titled "Fear: Trump in the White House" as a "joke".

According to Mr Woodward, Mr Trump had to be told by his Secretary of Defence Jim Mattis that spending in these areas was necessary to "prevent World War Three".

Sanders wouldn't rule out a lawsuit against Woodward on Monday, though Trump has long threatened legal action against his detractors that never materializes.

While the president expressed annoyance that Barack Obama was taking credit for the nation's economic success, he told one adviser that the former president's increased visibility would give Trump more chances to attack a figure who remained very unpopular with his base.

Kentucky Senator Rand Paul first floated the idea last week that Trump would be justified in using lie detector tests to smoke out the anonymous author, the report said.

Bob Woodward, associate editor of the Washington Post, has recently published an explosive book on the current United States presidency.

"You don't get to do it that way", Cohn said, according to Woodward. "Frankly, the White House and the staff here are focused on doing our jobs", she told CNN's Jeff Zeleny.

In the piece, an unnamed senior administration official says people within the White House are actively "thwarting Mr. Trump's more misguided impulses". He added, "He and I both know this story is total BS".
