Omarosa says she secretly taped her own firing

  • Omarosa Manigault then-director of communications for the White House Office of Public Liaison center speaks in the East Room of the White House in Washington before the start of President Donald Trump's

In the recording, Kelly also said that everybody on the staff works for Kelly and not the president, and Manigault responded to that on Meet the Press by saying, "It tells you Donald Trump has no idea what's happening in the White House".

The network played audio of what appears to be Gen. Kelly's voice.

Omarosa needs a lawyer-she made a recording of the White House Chief of Staff in a classified area called a SCIF. She told Todd that she heard a recording of Trump using the n-word.

Omarosa Manigault Newman, everyone's favorite opportunist, hit the talk show circuit on Sunday as she continues to promote her tell-all book on her time in the Trump White House, Unhinged: An Insider Account of the Trump White House, scheduled to go on sale August 14.

On Friday, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said in a statement that Omarosa's forthcoming book is " riddled with lies". As The Post reported, "Trump's tweet Saturday, his first public mention of the anniversary, did not label the event as a white supremacist rally or specify that it was a white rallygoer who rammed his vehicle into a crowd of counterprotesters, killing one". She says that she saw the Commander-in-Chief eat a piece of paper after a meeting with his then personal attorney, Michael Cohen.

But the other recording she discussed on Sunday could prove equally explosive.

"I don't know exactly what will happen, but it probably will not be good", tweeted Richard Spencer, a leader of the so-called "alt-right" movement, who said he would be staying away from the rally. "They didn't really care if I showed up".

White House aide Kellyanne Conway told ABC's This Week on Sunday that the first time she heard her former colleague suggest "those bad things" was in the book.

She said she released the clip - which security experts have declared a massive breach of standards - to defend herself from a White House administration which constantly lies.

And the Republican National Committee pointed to her sudden admission she heard the tape where Trump allegedly said the N-word, despite her writing that she had only heard about it second-hand, as proof she shouldn't be trusted.

In the book, Manigault Newman painted the president as scattered, self-absorbed, misogynistic and insecure. They noted she completely flubbed the Black History Month, blocked the hiring of other black staff and humiliated the White House over and over.

She said she was releasing the recording to correct "the false story" that she attempted to "storm" Trump's residence after Kelly fired her. "Black diversity in the White House is nearly oxymoronic at this point", former Republican National Committee Michael Steele, who was the first African American to serve in that role, told the Guardian.

"Secretly recording conversations in the Situation Room isn't just wildly inappropriate, it's a threat to our national security".
