Manchester City have revealed their side and substitutes to take on Chelsea at Wembley in the Community Shield at Wembley this afternoon.

Only De Bruyne and Ederson appeared in more Premier League games than Bernardo Silva last season - though 20 of his outings were from the bench - and the champions' manager Guardiola admits the 23-year-old is at the forefront of his mind as he approaches the new campaign.

The five votes against came from Manchester City, Manchester United, Crystal Palace, Watford and Swansea.

Claudio Bravo gets the nod in goal, Sergio Aguero a spot up front and Fernandinho will captain the side.

"We are trying", Guardiola said, as quoted by FourFourTwo.

"We were really impressed when he arrived", Guardiola added of Aguero.

Guardiola heaped praise on man-of-the-match Aguero after his match-winning brace and Silva for a "masterpiece" of a performance that ensures he is the first name on the team sheet against Arsenal.

Hudson-Odoi was a rare bright spot for Chelsea, with subdued Spain striker Alvaro Morata offering little evidence he can make amends for last season's flop.

This may be a club that has managed win trophies despite their lack of managerial stability during the Abramovich era, yet the blackened clouds of uncertainly gathering at Chelsea appear to be the most threatening yet with just four days left of the summer transfer window. "Our pre-season until now has been a bit insane".

"So, I think it's a long way we have to work".

Willy Caballero, who endured a hard World Cup with Argentina, will operate between the sticks for Chelsea, with Thibaut Courtois still on a summer break as speculation surrounding his future continues to rage.

"For us, it's logical that the teams that will come against us will play against the defending champions, they will want to win anyhow and they will be more motivated to beat us.

I prefer in this moment to stay on the pitch with the players only for training".
