According to multiple reports from local Italian media, the 57-year-old actor was injured in Sardinia, where he is now filming the mini-series, "Catch-22".

Clooney was taken by ambulance to the John Paul II hospital emergency room, but his injuries were not serious.

According to a report from TMZ, Clooney became a human projectile and flew 20 feet in the air and over the auto he hit.

He was treated and released, hospital officials said.

Local reports say he was on his way to the set when a auto hit the bike he was riding.

The actor also reportedly underwent an MRI while at the hospital. His helmet, which broke during the crash, is said to have smashed the Mercedes' windshield. "He is recovering at his home and will be fine". The two reportedly left together in a private auto after he was given the clear.

Production on George Clooney's "Catch-22" is continuing as planned following his frightening scooter accident in Italy. No irregularities were found in a scan and Clooney left the hospital at 10 a.m. local time. "It turns out he had a scooter accident with only minor injuries", while another added: "George Clooney should not be tampered with 2018!"

Clooney has a home on the Italian mainland, on Lake Como.

George and Amal Clooney just donated $100,000 to help migrant children separated from their parents.

Clooney is now filming his new TV series "Catch 22" on the island.
