Amazon Prime Day Will Be July 16th But Some Deals Start Today

04 July, 2018, 00:05 | Author: Melinda Barton
  • A bigger Amazon Prime Day 2018 arrives July 16 with more deals, devices and longer hours

This year, Prime Day deals can be had in the following countries.

Amazon Prime Day will be longer this year, lasting for 36 hours and offering more than one million deals exclusively for Prime members around the world.

AUSTRALIANS have never even been able to shop at the event before but this year they'll be the first to host Amazon's annual sales day when it launches later this month.

Every day leading up to Prime Day, Amazon will be releasing exclusive offers and deals. Amazon didn't give specific numbers on deals, but last year it handicapped the number of sale items in the "hundreds of thousands", while this year it is more than a million.

As ever Prime Day deals are exclusive to Prime members, but there are no restrictions on the type of membership.

Each day, new deals on Prime Video, Amazon Music, and Twitch Prime will be unlocked, offering huge discounts on movies, music and Kindle books. All hands-free-just ask. See the Echo Show sale at Amazon.com HERE. To enrich the customer experience, Amazon is rolling out 11 pop-up stores in select malls across five cities where customers can experience new products on Prime Day in virtual reality (VR) before they buy.

First up, you can get four full months of Amazon Music Unlimited for just $0.99.

Prime Day will start on 16 July at 21:00 SA time, and will run for 30 hours.

Prime members who haven't yet tried Kindle Unlimited will have access to three months of unlimited reading for just $0.99.

The shopping spectacular has also been a driver of Prime membership, which now stands at more than 100 million worldwide.

If you are not a Prime member, you can start a 30-day free trial here to take advantage of Prime Day.

Amazon will remain tight-lipped on its best Prime Day deals until the 16th, but if the past is anything to go by, there are some bargains incoming.

The expanded number of deals comes from Amazon now owning more hardware brands. The latter is what the online giant is allotting for its upcoming Amazon Prime Day on July 16, kicking off the online sales at 3pm that day, per CNNMoney.

If you have the time to browse through deals in the morning, you can track upcoming Lightning Deals using the Amazon Shopping app. As prices tend to fluctuate, you'll have to make a judgement call if now is the right time to snap one up.

"We continue to be humbled by the response for Amazon and specifically the response to Prime", Ghani said.
