Dallas finished 24-58 last season and traded up a few spots in the NBA Draft to select Slovenian teenage basketball prodigy Luka Doncic.

Word of Jordan's decision was brought to the masses by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, who reported Jordan's pending free agency on Friday evening.

The 29-year-old was selected in the second round (No. 35 overall) in the 2008 draft. It could happen, as the team will reportedly look into signing DeAndre Jordan.

Jordan's field goal percentage dipped below 70 per cent for the first time in three seasons a year ago, but part of that could be due to the departure of point guard Chris Paul.

The 6-foot-11 Jordan has averaged at least 12 points each of the past three years.

Back in 2015 Jordan had agreed to join Dallas, then, all of a sudden, he changed his mind.

Jordan in Dallas just makes sense, if the two sides are willing to forgive one another for their last free agency fiasco. Randle could still draw interested from the likes of Brooklyn or Indiana. The Mavs have created a massive amount of cap space for the center. Seven years later, the Mavericks made a strong play for Jordan, who agreed to sign with them as a free agent.

Before trading Rivers, the son of Coach Doc Rivers, the Clippers had nine guards on the roster.

Avery Bradley, acquired in the deal that sent Griffin to Detroit, will be an unrestricted free agent and isn't expected to re-sign. Although his blocked shots dropped significantly last season, Jordan gives the Mavericks a rim presence they have coveted. He will make close to $24.1 million in 2018-19, the report says.
