That's why Apple has made a decision to not support 32-bit apps beyond Mojave. Familiar iOS apps, including News, Stocks, Voice Memos and Home, will now be available on the Mac for the first time.

Mojave will be a free download later this September and will be compatible with Macs introduced in mid-2012 or later, plus 2010 and 2012 Mac Pros with Metal-capable GPUs.

Apple will roll out macOS Mojave to its MacBook line of devices this fall along with iOS 12. The operating system has been redesigned from the ground up so all windows, apps, and the entire Finder itself features a dark mode. That apart, dark mode will put the focus on user content while controls recede into the background.

As you can see from the image above, Apple had to change how some UI elements behave when bringing touch-centric iOS apps to macOS, which doesn't support touch at all, at least at the moment. When the user clicks a stack, the icons expand automatically and allow the user to interact with each one. Users also have the option to build their own quick actions, such as adding a watermark to a photo, and add it to Finder. Apple has also confirmed that the new Xcode 10 is going to drop support for 32-bit apps as well.

You can keep your desktop clean with the new stacking feature which will automatically stack the content depending on the type. Unlike a folder, files in Stacks are directly accessible and you can scrub through them.

Other quality-of-life features were announced such as Quick Look, a new way to interact with files more deeply, but without actually launching an associated app. Parents will also be able to monitor and limit the device usage for their children.

Apple's latest MacOS update ends a so-called "4-year mountain bender" with a trip to the desert in its latest MacOS version: Mojave. New and updated apps are highlighted in the Discover tab, while tabs for Create, Work, Play, and Develop aid in locating certain apps for a specific goal. The firm will also be partnering with Microsoft to launch Office 365 to reinvigorate the store. Another new feature will allow the autofilling of one-time passwords provided by authentication apps. "In Safari, enhanced Intelligent Tracking Prevention helps block social media "Like" or "Share" buttons and comment widgets from tracking users without permission", says Apple.

Better performance, a more useful Siri, and new augmented reality powers are just some of the new features in iOS 12 that Apple showcased at its Word Wide Developer Conference (WWDC) in San Jose on Monday.

"Apple is making changes to the core of how the browser works - surprisingly strong changes that should enable greater privacy", Kevin Beaumont, a cyber-security expert, was quoted as saying by the BBC. It's an augmented-reality app that works as a virtual ruler to measure length or distance using your iPhone's camera.

The new macOS update also introduces easy and accurate screenshot captures, and new screen video recording capabilities.

Many of us would have realised how the desktop manages to get cluttered with files, images, documents and folders recklessly added and not deleted or sorted subsequently.
