  • Christina Aguilera praises Kanye West as she unveils new single Accelerate

The singer returned to her first passion early this morning with the release of "Accelerate" featuring Ty Dolla $ign and 2 Chainz.

Speaking to Billboard, Aguilera took aim at the show, saying: "It became something that I didn't feel was what I had signed up for in season one", she said. Aguilera reportedly was "longing for freedom" from the show and so she left the "energy sucker" behind to embark on the revamp of her career. Standing in front of a red backdrop, the "Fighter" singer belted out an a cappella version of what we assume is a new song. The song talks of a hook-up, which is not so different to her previous lead singles except for "Ain't No Other Man", but this time the lyrics are slightly more subtle. "Being okay to strip back and being able to be vulnerable in a new way", she said, before taking off a wig and showing herself in a more natural state. "To me, there's nothing like an fantastic hip-hop beat", Aguilera told Billboard.

For those who worry that Aguilera's iconic powerhouse vocals may not be present, have no fear.

For a long time, the famous singer Christina Aguilera was not pleased fans of their videos. Although reminiscent of younger pop stars' efforts who cite her as an influence, such as Ariana Grande's "Into You" and "Good For You" by Selena Gomez, "Accelerate" is a mature, erotically-charged cut that still cements her as a force to be reckoned with, with her richer, unmistakable tone setting her apart. But this being said, Aguilera is ready to shake things up and is about to come out with a new album. This reflects well on her own image, as the singer self-identifies as a "truth girl", and what better way to prove it than reflecting it in her music.

But while much of the video is meditative and introspective, Aguilera concludes on a defiant note: "F-k it". In addition to working with Ty Dolla $ign and 2 Chainz, Demi Lovato will also make an appearance on the song "Fall In Line".

Don't forget to mark your calendars for the full album release date on June 15!
