White House chief of staff John Kelly said Monday that a report that he called President Donald Trump an idiot is "total BS".

The publication presents the testimony of four officials who, according to them, heard Kelly called trump an "idiot" numerous times.

In a statement Monday, Kelly called the report "total BS", and characterized his relationship with Trump as "incredibly candid and strong".

On Monday, NBC News published a story that painted the president and the chief of staff at stark odds with each other, reporting that Kelly frequently casts himself as a figure who is reining in an erratic Commander in Chief. "This is another pathetic attempt to smear people close to President Trump and distract from the administration's many successes".

She also pointed out that a similar incident occurred not long ago, when former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson allegedly described Trump as a "f*cking moron".

After the release in January of "Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House", a tell-all book about the infighting within the administration, Tillerson defended Trump's mental fitness.

Moreover, a number of people whom Kelly ousted or blocked from the West Wing - including Lewandowski and Anthony Scaramucci - are known to frequently fill the president's ears with attacks on the chief of staff while telling Trump that Kelly has been holding him back. Trump later challenged Tillerson to an IQ test and fired him several months after the remark became public.

As noted by The Hill, "NBC cited eight current and former officials for its story". The doctor, who said that Trump would be the healthiest individual ever elected as president if he won, is now speaking out and alleging that members of Trump's staff raided his office shortly after Trump's inauguration.

During Tuesday's White House briefing, Sanders was asked why former White House staffer Keith Schiller forcibly took President Trump's records from his former physician, Dr. Harold Bornstein.

Kelly told senior national security officials in what appeared to be a "moment of frustration" in the last month that he believed the President was becoming "unhinged", according to the senior administration official. Trump also reportedly cut off contact with Bornstein after the Propecia comments.

Fuentes, meanwhile, said that Kelly is distressed to see his name tainted, but: "The reason that Kelly's here is because he believes in this country and he's a man of service".

Spokespersons: They haven't heard anything of the sort but did admit that, at times, Trump "gets frustrated" with Kelly for not giving him enough information.
