UFC later released a statement confirming Chiesa's injuries and also said flyweight Ray Borg would not be taking part in his fight against Brandon Moreno due to "multiple cornea abrasions".

McGregor stormed the UFC 223 press conference at the Barclay Centre in Brooklyn, New York.

After spending a night at the precinct for misdemeanor assault and felony criminal mischief, McGregor was caught doing the perp walk this morning.

McGregor reportedly turned up unannounced at the end of the press event publicising the UFC 223. Chiesa was deemed unfit to fight by the New York State Athletic Commission and the UFC medical team.

McGregor has not fought since August after losing a mega-money boxing bout against Floyd Mayweather and has not stepped foot in the octagon since November 2016.

MMA star Conor McGregor started a brawl in the wrong place - and ended up in handcuffs.

A warrant was previously issued for McGregor's arrest.

If former UFC champion McGregor is looking for help from the organisation, he is out of luck, UFC president Dana White said on Friday. At one point, video from inside the bus shows a hand truck smashing through the bus windows, cutting UFC fighter Mike Chiesa's face.

McGregor allegedly threw something through the window of a minibus, injuring a passenger, according to an NYPD source with knowledge of the event.

White also told ESPN Friday that he believes the Irish fighter appeared at the event as retaliation due to an incident earlier in the week involving fighter Khabib Nurmagomedo and McGregor's teammate Artem Lobov.

The Irishman posted a photograph on Instagram of him heading towards a auto in NY with a praying emoji shortly after being released on $50,000 bail.

Not surprisingly, several people in McGregor's crew were banned from the building thanks to their role in helping McGregor go on a rampage inside the arena during media day this week. "You's'll strip me of nothing", he tweeted, invoking an expletive.

It will be contested between Nurmagomedov and Max Holloway on Saturday. Nurmagomedov and Lobov were involved in a confrontation earlier in the week, prompting the former UFC lightweight champion to hop on a plane and arrive in NY.
