Chelsea's next match comes in the form of the final London Derby of this Premier League season, as the Blues go up against the 14th placed, West Ham.

Conte described Wilkins' passing as "tragic" and a "big loss". "I am very sad for this situation", he said at his weekly news conference today.

Vialli's comments came after Chelsea lost their last chance to make fourth place, being skittled at home by Tottenham Hotspur (3-1) to leave them marooned in fifth place.

"We played together for many years at Juventus, he was my captain, we won the Champions League together and I consider him a friend".

Antonio Conte insisted that he is "very angry" about Chelsea's struggles this season and added that he is still giving everything to try to turn the club's worsening fortunes around.

Former Chelsea player and coach Wilkins died on Wednesday, aged 61, with Chelsea set to honour his memory before the game on Sunday.

Speaking ahead of Sunday's game, the Italian said: 'After a defeat it is not simple but at the same time everyone must show pride in this moment and show great desire. However, the Premier League season is a 38 game marathon and as much as we'd like, we'll have to play all of these games.

Gianluca Vialli, a former Chelsea manager and Juventus team-mate of Conte's, claims his old friend can't wait to leave the west London club after growing exhausted of his lack of influence on the squad's make-up. "I haven't spoken to him for a year..."

"It's very hard for me but since this season I'm listening to a lot of speculation about my future, but the only truth is I am committed for this club". "We are talking about a really good person". He was a legend for this club and an ambassador for football. His days at Stamford Bridge appear to be numbered, he may well look to win some games between now and the end of the season in hope of rebuilding his battered reputation.
