The royal wedding could cost $45 million, putting Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's celebration among the 10 most expensive in history and nearly $20 million more than William and Kate's wedding. Markle held her up as a role model - "not just for her style" but for her humanitarian work, Morton writes.
Markle said on her now-deleted Instagram account that peonies make her "endlessly happy".
We'll keep an eye out to see if Markle pays tribute to Princess Di in any other ways.
So far, the excerpts indicate nothing super shocking about Markle, the 36-year-old biracial, divorced actress who is marrying Prince Harry, 33, at Windsor Castle on May 19.
Andrew Morton, who has written a number of books about the royal family, revealed the news in his latest book, Meghan: A Hollywood Princess.
"She packed it into the back seat of her vehicle even though it would have been just as easy to buy a new one", Morton writes.
It was reported that Meghan might be teaming her designer wedding dress with Princess Diana's family tiara, the Spencer tiara, depending on whether or not it can be loaned from the exhibition that it is now displayed in - but that isn't the only tribute being paid to Diana on 19th May.
- Like many Americans, Markle was enamored of the British royal family and especially admired Diana. She cancelled "lunches on short notice" or expected friends "to rework their own schedules to accommodate the busy life of the rising star".
"A wealthy entrepreneur friend claimed the marriage ended so abruptly that Meghan sent Trevor her diamond wedding and engagement rings back by registered mail".
According to Morton (via Us Weekly), Markle met Engelson at a bar in Hollywood, and the producer was allegedly responsible for helping her secure a small role in Robert Pattinson's movie Remember Me.
The book, due for release on April 12, also details the soon-to-be royal's interest with Princess Diana.
Following her success in acting career, Markle was said to be no longer dependent on Engelson as she was making new friends and making more money.
Another (friend) confirmed that the decision to end the marriage was made by Meghan and had come 'totally out of the blue, ' " Morton writes.
"She was always fascinated by the royal family", her friend Ninaki Priddy told Mr Morton. Prince Harry is a very lucky man!
