"I hope she uses this time to reflect not only on how she treated me but so many others like the students at Dartmouth or even people like Lebron James", Hogg told The News in response to Ingraham's announcement.

Ingraham found herself in hot water after she tweeted out an article that mocked Hogg, who has emerged as a gun control activist in the wake of the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, for not getting into colleges to which he applied.

"I'll be off next week for Easter break with my kids but fear not, we've got a great line up of guest hosts to fill in for me", Ingraham said during Friday's show.

But her apology did not stop companies from departing.

"A bully is a bully and it's important that you stand up to them", he said. Several advertisers are backing away from her show.

Hogg - who has amassed more than 650,000 Twitter followers himself - responded by tweeting a list of 12 companies that he said were sponsors of Ingraham's show, The Ingraham Angle. After Sean Hannity supported Alabama judge Roy Moore in his campaign for the USA senate, five companies removed their ads, including Keurig.

On Thursday, Ingraham tweeted an apology, saying she was sorry for any hurt or upset she had caused.

It seems the media saturation of Hogg and his fellow liberal classmates from the Florida high school where last month's mass shooting left 17 people dead, has worn out its welcome.

Hogg wrote on Twitter: "An apology in an effort just to save your advertisers is not enough".

"We'd like to confirm that we are no longer advertising on Laura Ingraham's show and are monitoring all of our ad placements carefully", the company said.

In response, Hogg, who has called for stricter gun regulations after the February 14 massacre at his high school, called on advertisers to boycott Ingraham's show. It's time to love thy neighbor, not mudsling at children. "She only apologized after we went after her advertisers", he told the New York Times.

The Ingraham Angle is one of the highest-rated cable news programs on television.
