An earlier planned trip to Lagos in May 2016 was aborted at the last minute, with a terse statement from the presidency saying Buhari had an ear infection.

"And we told them that we are not interested in disrupting the presidential visit, our protest is not going to take place in Ikeja, and that there is no need for any alarm".

"We will not want to see commercial motorcycles plying the prohibited routes of Agege Motor Road, Bank Anthony Way and anywhere on the Island".

"Whoever is also found as a passenger will also be arrested and prosecuted so do not patronize these Okadas on these prohibited routes not only for the goal of the visit but also to ensure that Lagos State Laws on the regulation of commercial motorbikes are obeyed at all times", Mr Edgal warned.

"Security engagements are in top gear, as we are working with the Federal Road Safety Corps, Nigerian Navy, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) and the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA)".

Also at mosque for the marriage ceremony were President of the Senate, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, Nassarawa State Governor, Alhaji Almakura, Bauchi State Governor, Alhaji Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar among others.

The state government had announced on Tuesday that movement would be restricted to certain areas during the president's visit, promising that alternative routes would be created. "The whole city is shut down for the entire day".

President not only hitch-free but also very memorable.

Insisting that Lagos State should enjoy special status, governor Ambode on Thursday evening, urged the President to seriously consider the possibility of granting the Special Status to enable it sustain its position as the driver of the nation's economic growth.

The government had asked workers to be off duty as a result of President Muhammadu Buhari's visit to the state.
