McDonald's will update fans on the sauce this week, and it seems the company will be answering questions about where it's all gone, in addition to when and where it'll be available. Twenty million packets of the cult favorite will be available across all McDonald's restaurants in the United States beginning Monday, Feb. 26. During the show's third season, Rick reveals his motivation for the duo's adventures through time has been in search of the elusive dipping sauce, which he calls his "one-armed man" and "series arc if it takes 9 seasons!"

Originally promoted in 1998 in connection with the premiere of Disney's "Mulan", McDonald's Szechuan became an inside joke for the rapid fans of Dan Harmon's "Rick and Morty".

"We did not anticipate the overnight crowds, the cross-state travel and the wonderful curiosity, passion and energy fans showed", read a statement from McDonald's. Fans were disappointed. People wept. "And our super-limited batch, though well-intentioned, clearly wasn't near enough to meet that demand". The next day, McDonalds issued an apology and promised the return of the Szechuan sauce at a later date. It could only feasibly produce a certain amount of packets in time for the promotion it wanted to pair Szechuan sauce alongside.

Not like October 7, when thousands of fans went home hungry. Then, around April 2017, interest in the sauce piqued after a character on Cartoon Network's "Rick and Morty" cartoon series professed his love for the discontinued sauce, and cited it as the impetus for all his time-traveling actions. Some customers were so upset that police had to be called to locations.

All of this to announce it will release the sauce to the masses starting Monday.

The fast food restaurant said Thursday that it will ship 20 million packets of Szechuan sauce to all of its restaurants in the U.S.
