  • John Morris left and Kaitlyn Lawes will represent Canada in Mixed Doubles Curling a new event

This is the first year for mixed doubles curling in the Olympics, but the Hamiltons have been curling as a pair for over a decade.

"We weren't in a great position", said Morris.

"My dad went down to the club and played in leagues and when I went down to watch him", he said. If China defeats Norway, however, they would force a tiebreak game to be played Sunday morning at 6:05 a.m. EST. "Walking in the opening ceremony would be awesome but at the end of the day, you're standing on your feet for a long time so I don't think it's conducive to performance, especially having a game so early in the morning (Saturday)".

Mixed doubles curling is one of four new events in the 2018 Winter Olympics and was the first to kick off official competition even though the Games do not formally open until Friday. "We had a really good team practice yesterday and got the rocks dialed in".

"At the end of the day, we're here to compete and we want to make sure we're rested and feeling good", she said.

"It's different than playing with the girls I normally play with", she said.

"I probably could", his sister shot back.

"It's the first time that they have ever had like a two-on-two slot format in the Olympics", Matt Hamilton told InsideEdition.com before he and his sister set off for the games. "I was making jokes about it during the last end, but just our focus was to score a deuce - that's it". Kaitlyn Lawes had a flawless throw knock a Swiss rock out of the button for four points in the second end. While OAR got a point back in the sixth off of the power play, their mistakes caught up to them. We had the one-hour bus delay and it made for quite and interesting evening but these guys just said, 'There's nothing we can do about it ... let's go curl'. Finland was the only winless team (0-4) and had the daunting task of challenging Norway to get off the schneid.

All of the Olympic curling matches in the second session take place simultaneously and it will be up to NBC's editors to decide how much of each match is shown.

"It certainly doesn't hurt that they are such experienced thirds", Canadian coach Jeff Stoughton said.

The siblings teamed up three years ago after they learned mixed doubles would become a part of the Olympics, ESPN reports.
