Israel's PM Benjamin Netanyahu has addressed the participants of the 2018 World Economic Forum, touching upon the issues the Palestinian-Israeli conflict in the light of the recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital and Iran nuclear deal.

During his visit, the European Union gave assurances that it backed his plan to have East Jerusalem as capital of a Palestinian state - rejecting Trump's move. Trump said Israel, too, should be prepared to concede some points in the peace talks in view of the embassy decision and US recognition of Jerusalem as that nation's historic capital.

Vice President Mike Pence traveled to Egypt, Jordan and Israel last weekend, but Palestinian leaders refused to meet with him because of Trump's decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital.

The Israeli army issued a military order to establish a settlement outpost in the Eish Alghorab area in Beit Sahour In the Bethlehem Governorate, linking it with the nearby settlements until it reaches Jerusalem.

"We give them hundreds of millions of dollars in aid and support, tremendous numbers, numbers that nobody understands".

"That money is on the table, and that money is not going to them, unless they sit down and negotiate peace. And as you say, we're working together to defeat those challenges and to meet them".

During his bilateral meeting with Ms May, the President said "it's a false rumour" that there is tension in the US-UK relationship.

Trump already drastically reduced USA aid last week to a United Nations fund that provides assistance to Palestinian refugees, sending just $60 million of a pledged $125 million.

President Trump said in Davos his decision had consequences, since the USA gives "hundreds of millions of dollars" to the Palestinians.

Trump promised to move the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to the Holy City a early as next year.

He will also stress his "America First" policies and seek more reciprocal trade policies from US allies, Cohn said, in keeping with Trump's belief that worldwide trade deals are tilted against the United States.

Originally, moving the embassy was expected to take years.

The Palestinians will "continue to use all available political, diplomatic and legal venues in order to achieve the long overdue rights of the Palestinian people, most importantly our right to self-determination", Erekat said.

On January 12, Trump's administration announced that it would waive sanctions on Iran as it was required by the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), also known as the Iran nuclear deal.

Actresses Emma Thompson and Olivia Wilde, as well as British author Hanif Kureishi were also among the signatories.
