Burger King Tackles Pro-Net Neutrality Argument With This Brilliant Video

The video below shows the reactions of customers who went to Burger King and ordered a Whopper, but with an option of three different price points.

In the battle over net neutrality, apparently one fast-food chain is king when it comes to understanding what's at stake, and it's none other than the home of the Whopper.

The ad is framed as a social experiment and a statement against last month's move to repeal internet protections dubbed "Whopper Neutrality".

"Burger King did not weigh in at the FCC in 2015 when it wrote the net neutrality rules that the agency's Republican leaders later scrapped in December", notes the report.

Burger King - a fast-food chain that sells cheap beef - apparently understands net neutrality more than the average member of Congress. And here that means the Whopper stands in for internet access speeds to raise awareness of what repealing net neutrality could mean for everyday people. When we asked the company why it chose to make this ad, it said, "We believe the internet should be like Burger King restaurants". "It's ready but you can't give it to me?" one angered customer said, CNN Money noted. The video then directs viewers to a Change.org petition supporting net neutrality.

"This effort aims to help people understand how the repeal of Net Neutrality will impact their lives", said Burger King. Introduce the kind of dumb policy that Burger King applies in the video, and you'd lose all your customers overnight.

In the commercial, a Burger King cashier charges exorbitant amounts for slow, lackluster service to the frustration of customers. "It's stupid but true". Only 20 percent of United States households have a choice when it comes to high-speed broadband provider, as the big cable companies mostly operate regional monopolies.

To put an exclamation on their message the video ended with the King himself sending a profound shot at Pai by drinking out of an oversized Reese's coffee mug.
