  • Android 8.1 Will Show the Connection Speed of Public Wi-Fi Networks

A Fast-labeled connection will also afford stable-enough wireless access to streaming contents, including Full HD contents. One of the bigger features in the new 8.1 is the ability to tell users just how strong the local public Wi-Fi connections are. It has been reported that the app works on devices with low RAM running Android 8.1 Oreo.

Free public Wi-Fi is becoming popular and sometimes unsafe. That means, connecting to a slower Wi-Fi network ends here with the Android 8.1 Oreo.

In case you want to browse websites and stream music, OK label will be fine too.

Yup, now you can pick which is the best Wi-Fi network to connect to, at glance. We have seen plenty of new features of this new Operating System and today, we have seen one more new feature of this Operating System. Free Public WiFi is present all over and sometimes, it's hard to choose a Wifi from a list because some of them have a strong signal strength and some have bad.

Android Oreo owners can now see WiFi network speeds before they connect.

Google is yet again adding new features to its Android 8.1 OS version. Basically, with this feature users can see the expected speed of a certain nearby public Wi-Fi network.

Included in the update package are key features to make for a more optimal wireless device user experience.

In December a year ago, Google Groups community manager Orrin wrote in the official Google Pixel forum page what features to expect with 8.1 Oreo.

ZDNet reports that a community manager for the Pixel forums clarified the feature, stating that the labels simply refer to the speed at which the connection operates and don't take into account any other factors that might affect how well the network functions.

The 8.1 Oreo update comes with other add-ons.

If you are already a member of the Nokia beta labs, your phone will automatically receive the Android 8.1 beta OTA update notification.
