"What continues to impress is the large spread in prices between stations nearby, even as gas prices remain somewhat low, unsuspecting motorists have seen price differences of 10 to as much as 50 cents per gallon between neighboring stations in some large cities", said DeHaan in a news release.

Hawaii, HI, January 22- Average retail gasoline prices in Hawaii have fallen 1.6 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $3.54/g yesterday, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 355 gas outlets in Hawaii. The highest gas price in the South and Southeast is found in Florida $2.54, which is 25 cents more a gallon than in Texas. Every other state in the region are paying one to five cents more at the pump for a gallon of regular gasoline compared to last Monday. Prices are about 31 cents more than at the same point past year.

Huntsville- $2.30/g, up 1.9 cents per gallon from last week's $2.28/g. Fortunately, prices at the pump plateaued late last week, after the momentum for oil stalled out. The EIA forecasts that crude oil production will average 10.3 million barrels per day in 2018, which would mark the highest annual average production rate in USA history, surpassing the previous record of 9.6 million barrels per day set in 1970.

The most expensive gas price averages in Tennessee were in Jackson at $2.40, Nashville at $2.38 and Kingsport-Bristol at $2.37.

During the next few months, Jenkins said, refineries will reduce output as they conduct maintenance on their equipment and switch to summer-blend gasoline.

Prices are up 39 cents on the year in California, 37 cents in IN and 32 cents in MI. The EIA expects domestic production to reach 10.8 million barrels per day in 2019 and surpass 11 million in November 2019.

Redman says demand may have been down due to the winter weather, but prices remain high due to a growing economy. On the week, US crude production increased by 258,000 b/d to 9.750 million b/d.
