Amazon's peak day of customer fulfillment in 2017 was December 19.

Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) releases broad details about its holiday sales period including the fact that millions more Amazon Devices sold in this year's period. Items shipped with free one-day or same-day shipping - two perks of a Prime membership - doubled this year, according to Amazon. From Thanksgiving to Cyber Monday, 140 million items were ordered from small businesses and entrepreneurs.

Over 4M people started Prime trials (free or paid) in one week.

However, the company has never announced how many Prime members it has; as of September 2017, Amazon Prime had about 90 million USA members (up 38%), according to estimates by Consumer Intelligence Research Partners. "More than one billion items were ordered from small businesses and entrepreneurs worldwide this season - and over just five days, from Thanksgiving through Cyber Monday, almost 140 million items were ordered from small businesses and entrepreneurs".

Amazon's strong holiday season is likely to keep many investors excited over its future prospects.

Prime members shopped more than 100,000 Lightning Deals on Amazon.com with Prime Early Access. "Thank you to the millions of customers and hundreds of thousands of Amazon employees all around the world who made this holiday better than ever before".

Alexa customers used their device to turn on their holiday lights more than 1 million times.

Amazon confirmed today that it sold "tens of millions" of Alexa-enabled products worldwide this holiday season. Companies continue to handle their own packaging, shipping and customer service.

Amazon's Echo Dot speaker may be the first hit product that literally sells itself.
