  • Record-equalling Rohit hundred sets up India series win

1- Rohit scored his century off just 35 balls, the joint-fastest by any batsman in T20Is.

Rohit smashed 10 sixes and 12 fours before he was eventually dismissed for 118 in 43 balls with India on 165-1 after 12.4 overs in the second game of the three-match series.

In reply, Sri Lanka gave India a mini-scare through Kusal Perera's 37-ball 77 and his whirlwind century partnership with opener Upul Tharanga (47 off 29). A 43-ball 118 was laden with 10 maximums, one of which flew for 104 metres.

# Rohit took 35 Balls to reach his hundred - the joint-fastest in T20 Internationals along with David Miller, who scored his knock against Bangladesh in Potchefstroom couple of months ago.

Rohit is also the only Indian to score two T20I hundreds.

The Hit-man blasted 10 sixes and 12 fours in his innings.

Sharma's fireworks lit up Indore.

None of the Sri Lankan bowlers were spared by Sharma's classy contribution as Rahul made merry to save for Angelo Mathews - who was forced to leave the field clutching his hamstring midway through his spell.

Yuzvendra Chahal picked up four wickets while Kuldeep Yadav picked up three wickets as Sri Lanka fell short of the target by 88 runs. However, even the senior Lankan players have struggled to counter the Indian bowlers and batsmen.

India, who won the Test series and then walked away with the honours in ODI series as well, look set to take the series in shortest format as well, after they registered an impressive victory in the first T20I. Australia hold the world record, with 263/3 against Sri Lanka at Pallekele in 2016.

If being poor with the ball wasn't enough, the tourists showed an even greater ineptitude with their batting.

Rohit Sharma slammed a terrific hundred during the 2nd T20I against Sri Lanka in Indore on Friday.

The Lankans ultimately ended up at 172-9, a far cry from India's total which they were looking good to chase down at one point.
