In the document, Todd Palin said the altercation started when his son called to say he was coming to get a truck from the house, to which he objected, prompting his son to say he was on his way anyway "to beat his a**".

Sarah Palin's troubled eldest son is in an Alaska jail after his second domestic violence arrest in two years.

Track Palin, shown with Willow and Trig Palin in 2008, was arrested Saturday after authorities said he violently attacked his father, Todd. Track Palin was arraigned on three misdemeanor charges - fourth-degree assault, interfering with the report of a domestic violence crime and possession of a firearm while intoxicated.

Track Palin told police he broke a window, disarmed his father and put him on the ground.

Track Palin, who his mother has said suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder, has been arrested previously.

Fulton fire officials said the dog fell through the Oswego River's ice Sunday afternoon, and a man and woman tried to help.

Palin also faces a misdemeanor criminal mischief charge for causing almost $1,000 in property damage following an unspecified domestic violence incident, according to records. Police claimed he punched his girlfriend in the head, kicked her, and threatened to shoot himself with his assault rifle.

John Tiemessen, the family's lawyer, was not available to respond to a news agency request for comment on Monday but issued a statement on Sunday asking for the Palins' privacy to be respected. Track Palin also told the police he had consumed a few beers earlier, the documents say.
