Apple's release notes come along the update which states that the HomeKit bug that allowed unauthorized access to HomeKit accessories including smart locks, which was fixed earlier by Apple on server-side, has now been completely resolved.

For those who do own a fair bit of HomeKit-connected devices, you'll be pleased to learn that Apple has since released iOS 11.2.1.

Aside from the Apple Pay Cash reinstall issue, the iOS 11.2 has also caused an error in the iPhone X's Face ID system. Following the latest software update, HomeKit vulnerability is patched and users can now restore the functionality by updating their iOS devices.

Compared to previous iOS updates, iOS 11 seems to have been the most problematic, with the patience of even the most ardent of Apple fans being tested by what appears to be a never ending onslaught of software problems.

The Inquirer reported that Apple is already aware of the new issue brought by the iOS 11.2 update. The update contains few improvements and a fix related to the Homekit remote access for shared users.

If your device is eligible to receive the iOS 11.2.2 or tvOS 11.2.1 updates, you can open the Settings, go to the General section, and access the Software Updates entry. The tvOS 11.2.1, meanwhile, is available to download for Apple TV 4 and 4K model. It's recommended to download the OTA update over Wi-Fi.

It has been mentioned that those devices on beta versions may need to be removed from their beta profiles and be rebooted to see the fix.

Apple has started rolling out the iOS 11.2.1 update for iPhone and iPad a week after iOS 11.2 was made available. If users do not wish to use their device to make transactions, they can uninstall the app anytime they want.
