  • Google’s New Data Saving App Datally Now Available Worldwide

Today Google announced Datally, a smart and simple Android app that helps smartphone users understand, control, and save mobile data. The app also recommends various ways to cut down usage of data based on the activities suggesting nearby public access of Wi-Fi networks for them to connect to. Datally is a data saving application which will help users take control of how they consume data in daily life and block culprit applications that continue to run in the background and eats up the data bundle.

That's where Google's new app Datally kicks in: It claims to help people save some data and thus, some money. It initially trailed Datally in the Philippines, where it said users saved as much as 30% of their data after installing the app.

Google has now finally made the Datally app official.

While using your mobile data you always tend to be thrifty because mobile data comes at a premium. The app is compatible with devices running Android 5.0 Lollipop and above.

Datally should also come in handy when traveling overseas, as it can help you save on roaming surcharges. Datally can block app's data connection entirely with one touch. Indeed, something that can closely monitor app use can be a godsend for those in places where buying prepaid credits for texting, calling and data is the norm. The difference, though, is that this standalone app is much more direct and user friendly.

Ehimuan-Chiazor said that apps frequently use data in the background to update content and information and one may not know it happens. The app has also been able to save people, on average, 30 percent of their data. The menu should show data usage over the past month. The app has been dubbed as Datally and is now available through the Play Store. The app also tracks real-time usage of each app that's now in use, which Google likens to a "speedometer" for your data. Most of the complaints for Smartapp, it seems, appear to be around the wallet feature it had, and the recharge option that it discontinued.
