Rajkot: New Zealand have won the toss and elected to bat against India in their second T20 worldwide at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium, here on Saturday. New Zealand went into the match dropping Tom Latham and Tim Southee and played Glenn Philips and Adam Milne. India drafted in the debutant Mohammad Siraj in the place of Ashish Nehra who retired from worldwide cricket after the previous game. We lost the toss, we did not get to choose what we would have done.

The New Zealand captain Kane Williamson opted to bat first after winning the toss. Support staff saw some dew on the field yesterday and we wanted to bowl first. It is an opportunity for us to restrict them in the first innings; it gives us what we wanted to do out here.

Given a spot in the starting XI on Saturday following Ashish Nehra's retirement, Siraj had a baptism with fire in Rajkot as New Zealand's batsmen made merry.

Having snapped the Twenty20 worldwide jinx against New Zealand with the opening match win in New Delhi, India will now aim to clinch the three-match series whereas the Black Caps will try to keep it alive. The resounding victory, riding on the swashbuckling batting exploits of their top-order and, in particular openers Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma, was the country's first-ever win over the Kiwis in the shortest form of the game.

Conditions: The pitch looks like a belter as is expected of a typical Rajkot strip. The weather hovers at a warm 31 degrees. The ball's going to come onto the bat quite nicely. Dhawan and Sharma put on a record 158-run partnership that went into the 16th over to ensure that India ended up with a plus-200 total despite a brief wobble towards the end. India, on the other hand, will have to look back and admit that their batting failed today and stubborn performances by Kohli and Dhoni were never going to be enough chasing a total of 197.

New Zealand opener Colin Munro, who nearly swung the decisive third and final ODI against India in Kanpur for his team, hammered a hundred in just 54 balls that included six fours and seven sixes in Rajkot on Saturday.
