Netflix, who produces the popular "House of Cards" series starring the disgraced Spacey, has unceremoniously given him the ax following allegations of sexual assault of minors levied against the actor. The production assistant accusing Spacey of sexual assault claimed that while he was in a vehicle with Spacey a few minutes away from the set, the actor (who was driving) put his hands down the production assistant's trousers.

Actor Kevin Spacey arrives for the season 4 premiere screening of the Netflix show "House of Cards" in Washington, DC, US, February 23, 2016. He asked that CNN refrain from describing what happened next in the vehicle, so as protect his identity. "I witnessed him groping men many times in all sort of different situations".

CNN reports that the former production assistant, whose account was never previously been disclosed, alleges Spacey sexually assaulted him during one of the show's early seasons. That must be good news for the cast and crew, who can get a safer working environment, free of a predator, and continue to have a steady income. He said: "He would put his hands on me in weird ways". He claimed that "everybody saw", and that crew members often commented on Spacey's behaviour, but didn't complain out of fear of losing their jobs.

The Verge is reporting that Netflix has fired Spacey from House of Cards, effective immediately.

But unlike the bombshell dropped earlier this week about Spacey and a teenager from 30 years ago, these allegations are more recent, and they're centered right here in Maryland, on the set of "House of Cards". (Netflix has also canceled an upcoming Gore Vidal biopic he starred in and produced.) It means that the drama is no longer has its central character, Frank Underwood, who plays a politician manipulating his way to the Oval Office and eventually succeeding in his journey. He said that he once saw a grip bend over to pick something up and Spacey remarked that he had a "nice ass".

In London, The Old Vic has been accused of covering up allegations of groping and inappropriate sexual behaviour by Spacey. In it, he also came out publicly for the first time, acknowledging, "I choose now to live as a gay man".
