Trevor Siemian's job in jeopardy

  • Broncos face uncertainty at quarterback following third straight loss

Denver Broncos head coach Vance Joseph remains noncommittal on his starting quarterback for Week 9 against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Joseph complained that Siemian made "three horrific decisions" on "three terrible interceptions" in the Broncos' 29-19 loss at Kansas City on Monday night, wasting another dominant defensive effort and negating any gains made by the offense.

"I'm going to watch the film [Monday] night and [Tuesday], like most coaches would do, and see, " Joseph said. "That's insane. You can't win when you turn the ball over five times". Lynch, a first-round draft pick of the Broncos in 2016, lost the competition for the starting job to Siemian in August for the second straight year.

It was a really bad night for the Denver Broncos.

After losing their third straight game, the Denver Broncos (3-4) dropped another spot in USA TODAY's National Football League power rankings. "Our defense played winning football".

When asked if he would stick with Siemian, Joseph side-stepped the question by saying he would evaluate the position after looking at the game tape.

Siemian was tied for the league lead with six touchdown passes after two games; he now has nine touchdown passes total, with just two coming in the past three games, and 10 interceptions for the season.

"I think Trevor has been pressing to be a special player for us, " Joseph said. They even managed to force a pair of turnovers against a team that hadn't turned it over since its first offensive play of the season. "But losing three games in a row and having five turnovers tonight, anything's possible".

The problem for Joseph and the Broncos is the depth chart is unsettled behind Siemian. "But right now we're giving games away and all four losses look the same". Lynch started two games as a rookie last season and went 1-1.

"That's his job as the quarterback".
