Lawyers in Pakistan have called for a countrywide strike on Wednesday to press for the resignation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar in wake of the damning report of the Supreme Court-appointed Joint Investigation Team (JIT), probing the Panama papers case.

She said that all the documents presented by the Sharif family in the court were duly attested, notarized and verified by the relevant authorities.

20 de julio de 2017, 07:49Islamabad, July 20 (Prensa Latina) The Pakistani government and opposition are facing the Supreme Court today, which has opened a hearing on a corruption case against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Hussain Nawaz, while speaking to media blamed JIT once again for not including these documents in the report.

Pakistan PM, however, said "those asking for my resignation have been rejected by the nation multiple times" and complained that he had never been allowed to complete his tenure and this is the first time he has completed four years. "Dubai Customs has no record of transportation of machinery of Gulf Steel Mills from Dubai to Saudi Arabia", The Express Tribune quoted Supreme Court Judge Ijazul Ahsen as saying on Thursday. The Sharifs denied the claim.

"It is not allegation but a matter of fact that Maryam is the beneficial owner of the flats", he said.

If children fail to prove purchase of the properties in London, public office holder will be held accountable, Justice Azmat said.

During the hearing, the counsel for the premier's children, Salman Akram Raja also submitted a 17-page petition listing objections on the JIT report, pleading for dismissal of the report and its "evidence".

Raja presented the bench with the documents related to Qatari Prince Sheikh Hammad bin Jassim and the British Virgin Islands and argued that the JIT had not conducted further investigation after receiving the UAE letter. The documents include the two letters sent to the JIT by the Qatari royal.

Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said on Wednesday that had he not cared for Pakistan, he would have accepted former USA president Bill Clinton's offer of $5 billion for not carrying out nuclear tests in 1998.

The JIT said that it had collected evidence directly from the Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority (Jafza), the concerned regulator, which confirmed that Nawaz Sharif not only served as the head of the company's board, but also drew a salary of 10,000 dirhams between Aug 7, 2006 and April 20, 2014 - almost a year after assuming office.
